Furthermore, [from purity arise]: purification of sattva, cheerfulness of mind, concentration, mastery of the senses, and capacity for Self-vision.

This sutra continues the fruits of śauca, now in its positive aspect:

Sattva-śuddhi: purification of the luminous aspect of the mind, predominance of clarity over rajas and tamas.

Saumanasya: serene joy, a state of well-being that doesn’t depend on external circumstances.

Ekāgrya: concentration, the ability to unify the mind on one point.

Indriya-jaya: mastery of the senses, which no longer drag attention compulsively.

Ātma-darśana-yogyatva: capacity for Self-vision, preparation for ultimate realization.

Purity, internal and external, prepares the ground for everything else.
