From contentment arises the attainment of supreme happiness.

Saṃtoṣa perfectly established produces anuttama sukha, unsurpassable happiness.

This is one of the most revolutionary sutras in its simplicity. Supreme happiness doesn’t come from achieving more, but from being satisfied with what is.

Anuttama means “with nothing superior,” the highest happiness possible. And its source is not acquisition but attitude.

Contentment is not passive resignation or complacency. It is the capacity to find fullness in the present moment, regardless of circumstances.

As long as we seek happiness outside, we remain in lack. Contentment reveals that fullness was always here.
