Sādhana Pāda · Sutra 26
विवेकख्यातिरविप्लवा हानोपायः
vivekakhyātiraviplavā hānopāyaḥ
The means to liberation is uninterrupted discriminative discernment.
Viveka-khyāti is discriminative knowledge, the ability to distinguish between puruṣa and prakṛti at all times.
Aviplavā means “without fluctuation,” “uninterrupted.” Occasional glimpses of clarity are not enough; discernment must be constant.
Hānopāya is the means to hāna, the abandonment of suffering, liberation.
This sutra is crucial: it reveals that the path is to cultivate a discriminative awareness that does not waver. It is not a single event, but a stable transformation of perception.
Yoga prepares the conditions for this discernment to arise and stabilize until it becomes natural and unshakeable.
