Although activities are diverse, one mind is the director of the many.

When the yogī projects multiple emanated minds, these can perform different activities simultaneously. However, one original mind remains as director or coordinator of all.

Eka citta, the single mind, maintains control over anekeṣām, the many. It is like an orchestra conductor coordinating diverse instruments into a coherent symphony.

This principle has practical application for the ordinary practitioner: although our mind seems fragmented into multiple thoughts, desires, and tendencies, there is a center of consciousness that can observe and direct all this multiplicity.

The practice of yoga develops this central witness, strengthening the capacity to maintain coherence amid mental diversity.

The sutra also suggests that the apparent multiplicity of experience emerges from a unitary source of consciousness.
