Samādhi Pāda · Sutra 29
ततः प्रत्यक्चेतनाधिगमोऽप्यन्तरायाभावश्च
tataḥ pratyak-cetana-adhigamo'py antarāya-abhāvaś ca
From that [arises] the attainment of inner consciousness and also the absence of obstacles.
The practice of japa with contemplation produces two results:

Pratyak-cetana-adhigama — The discovery of inner consciousness, the witness that looks inward rather than outward.

Antarāya-abhāva — The disappearance of obstacles that will be enumerated in the next sutra.
Pratyak means “inward.” Normally consciousness is oriented toward external objects. Through devotion to Īśvara, consciousness turns upon itself, discovering its true nature. Obstacles dissolve naturally when the mind finds its center.
