Samādhi Pāda · Sutra 25

तत्र निरतिशयं सर्वज्ञबीजम्

tatra niratiśayaṃ sarvajña-bījam

In Him is the unsurpassed seed of all omniscience.

Sarvajña-bīja literally means “seed of omniscience.” All knowledge exists potentially in Īśvara in a supreme manner (niratiśaya) — without equal or superior.

In individual beings, knowledge is partial and progressive. In Īśvara, it is complete and eternal. There is nothing that Īśvara needs to learn because all knowledge is already present.

This omniscience is not like an infinite library of data but rather the pure consciousness that is the source of all possible knowledge. To meditate on Īśvara is to connect with this unlimited source.
