Samādhi Pāda · Sutra 14
स तु दीर्घकालनैरन्तर्यसत्कारासेवितो दृढभूमिः
sa tu dīrgha-kāla-nairantarya-satkārāsevito dṛḍha-bhūmiḥ
That [practice] becomes firmly established when cultivated for a long time, without interruption, and with devotion.
Three conditions for practice to take root:
- Dīrgha-kāla — Long time (years, not weeks)
- Nairantarya — Without interruption, continuity
- Satkāra — With reverence, attention, care
There are no shortcuts. Genuine transformation requires sustained commitment. Sporadic or mechanical practice does not produce lasting fruits.
