Then the veil covering the light is destroyed.

As a result of prāṇāyāma, especially the fourth type, the āvaraṇa (veil) covering prakāśa (the light) dissolves.

This light is the natural luminosity of consciousness, the inherent clarity of puruṣa. It is always there, but the impurities of the mind hide it like clouds cover the sun.

Prāṇāyāma doesn’t create the light; it removes what obstructs it.

This connects with yoga’s model: we don’t acquire something new, but remove the obstacles that prevent seeing what always was.

The mind becomes transparent, luminous, capable of reflecting without distortion.
