With the cessation even of that, through the cessation of all, [one attains] seedless samādhi.

Nirbīja samādhi — seedless samādhi — is the final state. When even the liberating saṃskāras of the previous sutra cease, absolutely nothing remains that could sprout into new mental fluctuations.

Sarva-nirodha — cessation of all. There is no object, no subject meditating, no process of meditation. Only pure consciousness remains, Puruṣa in its own nature.

This is kaivalya — the absolute isolation of consciousness from all manifestation. Puruṣa recognizes itself as it always was: pure, free, eternal. This is the ultimate goal of Patañjali’s yoga, presented here as the perfect closure of the Samādhi Pāda.
